Pamela DeGraaf (President), is a senior project controls professional with over 20 years of experience providing leadership in project controls. With 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, mining and power in both engineering and construction environments. Pam also specializes in developing, improving and integrating systems, processes and relationships. Pam has a degree in Commercial Art, immediately followed by an accounting diploma. She has been a member of AACE for 10 years and PMP certified working towards a designation.

John Mulholland (Vice President - Education & Training), career as a cost engineering specialist led him to live and work in seven of Canada’s ten provinces and three other countries. During mechanical engineering studies at UNB (Fredericton) he joined the COTC (Canadian Officers’ Training Corps), qualified and was commissioned as an officer in the Canadian army, serving in the Artillery and later in RCEME (Royal Canadian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers) rising to the rank of Captain in command of an Ancillary Squadron. Following that he has been involved in many programs/projects all around the world in Estimating/costing/scheduling, project Management and controls. John has more than 4 decades of experience in project controls and management.

Muaz Un Nabi (Director - Student Coordinator), is an Electrical Engineer with M.Eng. in Engineering Management from University of Ottawa. With 5 years working as Project Coordinator, Muaz has proven experience planning and implementing cost-control and scheduling strategies for large scale engineering and construction projects. Currently, Muaz is seeking opportunities in Project Controls.

Pranab Deb P. Eng PSP PMP (Past President and Director - Technology & Webinars, is a Project Controls Professional possessing over 15 years of experience in construction project management including Oil & Gas, Energy, Commercial and Heavy Civil. He has been an active member of AACE International from 2008, having started volunteering as a member proctoring exams and making arrangement for AACE presentation meetings. He has served the AACE International UAE chapter as VP Membership and Marketing and as Member of marketing team for the International Total Cost Management Conference in 2012 in Dubai, UAE. In 2013 he moved to Edmonton to work for Voice Construction as a Senior Project Coordinator/Project controls specialist for a major refinery project north of Edmonton. Pranab is a Civil Engineer and registered with APEGA as a professional engineer and holds the PSP credential from AACE and PMP from PMI. Pranab currently works for Stantec Consulting as a Planner/Scheduler.

Jatin Jajal (Director - Education), is a hands-on oil and gas industry manager committed to making positive contributions and advancements for over 9 years to the industry. He brings to the table a wealth and diverse experience within the industry. He has the ability to lead teams and monitor operational objectives to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency which, in turn, will lead to timely project completion and maximum profitability. He possesses Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and is registered as a professional engineer with APEGA. He holds various certifications from AACE, PMI, CIQS and RICS. He also has a Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University.

Jatin has managed up to 15 employees within the oil and gas industry while overseeing $2B overall department portfolio. Jatin is a positive, loyal and pragmatic leader committed to excellence and has worked in multiple locations worldwide with multiple nationalities. He has proficiencies in leading diverse teams, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, costing, financial control, cost engineering services, document management, QM processes, business administration, management reporting, earned value management, performance measurement and project execution.

Christian Adam (Vice President – Communications), has over 18 years of experience in the construction industry with a significant amount in the capacity of project management. A variety of experience coordinating many different types and sizes of projects all across Canada, including working directly for construction and oil & gas companies during all phases of construction in various locations including module facility yards, pipe fabrication shops, engineering offices, and plant facilities. This now includes a variety of experience as a senior project controls professional followed by a Building Construction Engineering Diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Ramon Ombac (Director - Communications), is a project controls specialist with more than 25 year experience in project management, planning, scheduling, cost control, cost estimating, quantity surveying and construction supervision in oil and gas, mining, industrial, residential and commercial projects in the Philippines, Middle East, Ontario and Alberta. He has been an active AACE member since 2005 and has held various executive positions with Bluewater chapter in Ontario and Aurora-Edmonton chapter. Ramon holds a Civil Engineering degree, and a Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP).

Ataur Rahman (Vice President - Membership & Events, has more than a twenty experience in leadership roles in Oil & Energy and Heavy Civil Project and Construction Management. He has turned around a couple of loss making businesses unit into profit centers through process improvement, business strategy realignment, reorganizing organizational structure. Mentoring managers in the organization, providing guidance and motivating them to achieve organizational goal. Monitor the technical and commercial progress of all projects to ensure that the work is undertaken and the compensation received in accordance with the contractual terms of the project . Responsible for building upon existing internal and external relationships and developing new ones to maximize the capture of new work. Assist the Business Focus on strong relationships with project managers, engineering department managers, clients, and direct reports. Actively involved inn performance with a focus on identifying and promoting opportunities for individual growth and work share opportunities with other Oil & Gas offices.

Afshin Nahid (Director - Memberhip), is a senior planner and scheduler. He has B.Sc. of civil engineering and M.Sc. of Civil Engineering – Hydraulic Structures. He was working with the biggest EPC Company in Gas power plant industry for more than 10 years. He came to Canada in 2011 and studied M.Eng. of Construction Management and Engineering. Afshin worked in various oil and gas projects in Fort Mc Murray. He got his Professional engineering designation in 2016. Currently, he is seeking a permanent project control position in Edmonton.

Ming Lu (Director - Faculty Representative), is currently Full Professor of Construction Engineering and Management in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Alberta. Dr. Lu taught at Hong Kong Polytechnic University for 10 years and remained active in research. In Sept. 2010, Dr. Lu moved back to Alberta and assumed a faculty position in CEM to continue applied research and train graduate students in partnership with Alberta industry. Dr. Lu has been actively involved in the AACE community through providing consultancy services and regularly presenting technical workshops (AACE Annual Meetings in 2013 and 2014; plus dinner meetings in local chapters at Edmonton and Calgary).
